The Argus Grouper is a striking reef fish featuring distinctive blue spots scattered across its dark body, creating a striking leopard-like pattern. This specimen displays the characteristic aggressive temperament typical of the species, making it best suited for experienced aquarists.

Native to Indo-Pacific reef environments, this intermediate-care fish thrives in well-established tanks with plenty of hiding spaces and stable water conditions. It requires a minimum 100-gallon aquarium to accommodate its mature size of approximately 24 inches. 

While reef-compatible with caution, the Argus Grouper may prey on smaller fish and invertebrates, so tank mates should be chosen carefully. It's an opportunistic hunter that responds well to live or frozen foods. The XL specimen pictured measures approximately 7.5 inches and will continue growing in captivity.
