This is a nocturnal coral species, so polyps typically remain closed during daylight hours and open only at night. Upon arrival, your coral may appear closed—this is completely normal behavior and not a sign of stress or poor health. Provide subdued lighting and allow 24–48 hours for the coral to acclimate to your tank. Once settled, you'll see full polyp extension during evening and nighttime hours. Avoid sudden bright lighting, which can delay opening. With proper care and a stable environment, your Tubastrea will display its vibrant pink coloration and full polyp extension during its active nocturnal periods.
