This juvenile white-spotted catshark is identified as Chiloscyllium plagiosum and measures approximately 8 inches. Its long, streamlined body and distinctive pale spots against a darker pattern give the species its name. As a bottom-dwelling shark, it is adapted to spend much of its time close to the substrate rather than swimming continuously in open water.

Catsharks are fascinating, specialized animals, but this species is intended for experienced aquarists with the space and expertise to plan for its substantial adult size. Consider its long-term housing needs before adding this juvenile to an aquarium.
