The Bariene Tang is a striking, fast-swimming surgeonfish with an impressive presence as it matures. Its laterally compressed body and continuous dorsal and anal fins are characteristic of tangs, while its bold coloration gives this specimen standout appeal in a spacious marine aquarium. An active grazer, it benefits from regular access to marine algae and a varied, appropriate diet.

Provide open swimming room, stable water conditions, and ample rockwork for grazing and retreat. Introduce it thoughtfully, as semi-aggressive behavior may be more noticeable around other tangs or similarly shaped fish. A 150-gallon minimum provides essential room for its activity and adult size.
