A striking herbivore with bold vertical stripes and an elegant streamlined body, the Convict Tang commands attention in any reef aquarium. Its dynamic coloration—jet-black bands contrasting against silvery-white—creates natural movement and visual depth even when the fish is stationary.

Beyond beauty, this intermediate-care specimen is a functional workhorse. It actively grazes on nuisance algae and detritus, helping maintain water clarity and reef health. The Convict Tang's peaceful temperament makes it an excellent community addition, compatible with corals and non-aggressive tankmates.

At approximately 3 inches, this size offers the perfect balance: large enough to display its full personality and coloring, yet still adaptable to a 75-gallon setup. As it matures to its full 11-inch adult size, it becomes an increasingly impressive centerpiece.

This is a WYSIWYG specimen—what you see is what arrives at your door. No surprises, no compromises. A living, thriving addition to your reef ready to enhance both aesthetics and ecosystem function from day one.
