The Female Lyretail Anthias is a stunning reef fish prized for its vibrant blue-eyed, blood orange coloration and Grade A quality from the Maldives. Also known as Pseudanthias squamipinnis, this species displays striking red and orange hues with distinctive eye markings that make it a centerpiece addition to any saltwater aquarium.
This semi-aggressive fish thrives in reef-compatible environments and requires intermediate care skills. It reaches approximately 6 inches at maturity and needs a minimum tank size of 70 gallons to establish territory and exhibit natural behaviors. The specimen pictured is approximately 2.25 inches, offering room for growth and development in your established aquarium.
Lyretail Anthias are social by nature and do best in small groups or harems within larger systems. They feed on small crustaceans and zooplankton, making high-quality pellets and frozen foods essential for maintaining their brilliant coloration. With proper care, stable water parameters, and adequate space, these fish become hardy and long-lived additions to reef aquariums.
