The Jansen Saddle Wrasse is a vibrant and active fish that brings dynamic movement to intermediate-level reef aquariums. With its striking coloration and bold personality, this wrasse demands respect and space—a minimum 75-gallon tank is essential to accommodate its territorial nature and energetic swimming patterns. Known for its aggressive disposition, it thrives best when introduced to established systems with plenty of rockwork for refuge. This species reaches up to 8 inches at maturity and is not suitable for reef environments due to its predatory behavior toward smaller invertebrates. Best suited for experienced aquarists who appreciate a fish with character and can provide the appropriate tank size and compatible tankmates.
