The Lyretail Hogfish is a striking reef dweller with vibrant coloration and dynamic personality. This semi-aggressive species features elongated fins and bold markings that intensify as it matures. Reaching up to 9.5 inches, it requires at least a 70-gallon tank with plenty of hiding spaces and established rockwork. These fish are active hunters with intermediate care requirements—they'll readily consume small crustaceans and may harass peaceful tank mates. Best suited for experienced aquarists seeking a bold, engaging addition to their setup. Feed high-quality carnivore diets including frozen foods and quality pellets. Not recommended for reef tanks due to predatory nature.
