The Shaggy Angler (Antennarius hispidus) is a fascinating saltwater fish known for its distinctive hair-like appendages and unique hunting behavior. This aggressive predator features a modified dorsal fin ray that functions as a lure to attract prey.

Available in a striking array of colors—including green, brown, white, pink, orange, and black, as well as natural combinations—each specimen is one-of-a-kind. Color selection depends on current stock availability.

Perfect for experienced aquarists, the Shaggy Angler requires intermediate care and a minimum tank size of 50 gallons to thrive. It reaches a mature size of approximately 15 inches, making it a substantial addition to established reef aquariums. This species is reef compatible, though careful consideration should be given to tank mates due to its aggressive nature.

An excellent choice for collectors seeking a conversation-starting, unusual fish with remarkable camouflage and predatory skills.
