Synanceia verrucosa

Reef Compatible - With Caution
Care Level - Beginner
Disposition - Semi-aggressive
Min. Tank Size - 50 gallons
Mature Size - 15 inches

This WYSIWYG specimen is approximately 3.5 inches long. Stonefish are masters of camouflage, with a textured, irregular appearance that helps them blend into rocky and rubble-strewn reef surroundings. They typically remain still and rely on concealment while waiting for suitable prey, so their subtle presence can make them difficult to spot in an aquarium.

Stonefish have venomous dorsal spines and require exceptional care during handling, tank maintenance, and any transfer. Keep the aquarium secure and provide a suitable, undisturbed environment; never handle the fish directly.
