The Striped Squirrelfish is a striking nocturnal species with bold red and white striping that becomes more vibrant under low lighting. This peaceful fish thrives in established reef aquariums with plenty of hiding spaces among rocks and corals. While beginner-friendly in care requirements, it prefers dimmer conditions and may hide during the day, becoming more active at dusk. Feed a varied diet of small crustaceans and meaty foods. Best kept singly or in pairs, as they can be territorial with their own kind. Requires a minimum 70-gallon tank to accommodate its eventual 10-inch adult size and provide adequate swimming space.
